History Of Sinhgad fort :
The earliest mention of Sinhagad fort (Earlier knows as Kondana)
is from 1328, when the Koli chief Nag Nayak defended it bravely against the
vast armies of Muhammad bin Tuhglaq, Sultan of Delhi. More than 300 years
later, in 1647, Chatrapati Shivaji maharaj, the great Maratha warrior King,

this fort three times, recapturing it every time and having it under his

successors. Sinhagad fort had been the place of many battles as if we mention
its well-known battle, Which happened in
1670 And fought by the Great Tanhaji Malusare. he fought this battel with his
life against the Mughal fort defender Udaybhan Rathore.
Our Trek Experience :
On this trip, I was accompanied by my six best friends. Two of them are regular trekker I would say pro trekkers and rest of us are newbies who just recently started trekking. So, we planned our trek for Saturday morning , According to plan our first task is to find the bus for sinhagad. But unfortunately we are not able to track one and tried other ways so we get a tempo from Rajaram bridge ( Karve nagar, Pune ) to straight up to the sinhagad paytha.
Before Sinhagad paytha there is Y junction from her you can choose if you want to go fort by vehicles or by doing trekking. The left turn from from Y junction is for them who wants to go with vehicles and don't want to do trekking and the right turn is for them who want to do trekking upto the top. This right turn takes you to the sinhagad paytha from where you begin your trekking.
So, we were at the sinhagad paytha thanks to the tempo driver he
drop us straight upto here. People usually start there trek early morning and
return back before the afternoon. But we reached sinhgad paytha at 10 am. While
we were climbing up there are many groups who were on their way back home.
The starting of our climb was very easy it's not very steep at start. The sky was cloudy it feels good because of the humidity in atmosphere, but it's also makes our trek difficult. I will personally suggest you not to wear sweatshirts and clothes which absorb water during the trek. It will get heavy as it starts raining.
The fort has two main doors 1. Pune darwaza and 2. Kalyan darwaha. We entered the fort through the pune darwaza. So there are three main gates to the fort which are pune darwaza 1, 2 and 3.as soon as you enter to the main fort area you can see huts on both the sides in your way. Which the villagers made to sell fruits and many things. There are still some building which are in good condition like toof khanas and horses stables which you can see there.
We explore the fort for almost 2 hours and did our lunch in one of this huts.we ate besan bhakaris which is the speciality up there with began bharata with some curd and also bhajiyas with tomato chutney it was really good. After exploring , eating and resting at fort we decided to start our start our return journey but unfortunately we didn't trek down to the Sinhagad paytha we take private vehicle up to paytha and did auto from there to Pune.
